Who are we?
A Monument of One's Own is dedicated to achieving commemorative justice across Australia, ensuring that the women who shaped this nation are recognised in our shared public spaces. We combine rigorous research, evidence-based advocacy, and community-driven campaigns to challenge the historical underrepresentation of women and other marginalised groups in public monuments, and to build something better in its place. Who we choose to commemorate reflects who we believe matters, and A Monument of One’s Own is here to make sure that women are part of Australia’s public history in a permanent, visible, and meaningful way.
